EU Marine Robots Kick Off meeting takes place in Porto

The EUMR Kick Off Meeting was successfully completed in Porto, Portugal on the 1st and 2nd of March, 2018. The meeting facilitated partner introductions and allowed a detailed examination of all project future activities and goals.   During the two day meeting, partners had the opportunity to discuss various topics, including project objectives, the governance structure, milestones, management processes and tools, project roadmap and partners responsibilities.   This meeting was a great chance to consolidate the consortium, project management key points and to map the road ahead!   Text: EU Marine Robots   More about the project

SEDIN KICK-OFF MEETING, Athens , Greece

On the 1st and 2nd of February 2018, UdigitalEdu attended to the kick-off meeting of a new project co-funded by the Erasmus+ programme (KA3 – Social Inclusion) through the Education, Culture and Audiovisual Executive Agency (EACEA) of the European Commission.     The project called “SEDIN: Creative methods for successful inclusion in multicultural schools” is coordinated by Action Synergy SL, from Greece and is composed by seven countries: Greece, Italy, Spain, Turkey, Belgium, Ireland, Bulgaria from nine different organizations.   The project aims to promote the use of the Montessori and Creative Learning methods in order to promote social inclusion…

STRONGMAR winter school takes place in Girona

Last week, from 17 to 21st of October, took place in Girona the STRONGMAR winter school on “Underwater Vision and Robotics”. In the framework of this twinning action, EC funded, that aims to enhance the scientific and technological capacity of INESC TEC and linked institutions in research, such training activities are a key for success.   Our team shared its knowledge on the topics of underwater vision and path planning. EXCELLABUST project meeting at Breaking the Surface 2016 in Croatia

Busy month for the Medical Imaging group

Very busy month for the Medical Imaging group with first, the visit of VICOROB’s member Oliver Diaz to the Technical University of Varna (TUV) in Bulgaria and second, the presentation of 3 research posters at the 13th International Workshop on Breast Imaging (IWDM) in Sweden.   Between June 6th – 9th, Oliver Diaz visited the laboratory of Computer Simulations in Medicine of the TUV and gave an invited talk entitled “The power of image processing in multimodal breast imaging” at the special session “eHealth and Networking for Advanced Cancer Detection“, as part of the IEEE Black Sea Conference on Communications…

Collaboration between UdG and Surrey University

Oliver Diaz, postdoctoral researcher at ViCOROB, has been appointed as Visiting Academic Researcher in the Faculty of Engineering and Physical Science (University of Surrey, UK). For an initial period of 1 year, Dr Diaz will collaborate closely with the Surrey’s Biomedical Imaging group, lead by Dr Kevin Wells.
