{"id":5233,"date":"2016-06-30T08:46:26","date_gmt":"2016-06-30T07:46:26","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/vicorob.udg.edu\/?p=5233"},"modified":"2016-06-30T08:46:26","modified_gmt":"2016-06-30T07:46:26","slug":"busy-month-for-the-medical-imaging-group","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vicorob.udg.edu\/ca\/busy-month-for-the-medical-imaging-group\/","title":{"rendered":"Busy month for the Medical Imaging group"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Very busy month for the Medical Imaging group with first, the visit of VICOROB\u2019s member Oliver Diaz to the <strong>Technical University of Varna<\/strong> (TUV) in Bulgaria and second, the presentation of 3 research posters at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.malmokongressbyra.se\/iwdm2016_-_13th_international_workshop_on_breast_imaging\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>13<sup>th<\/sup> International Workshop on Breast Imaging (IWDM)<\/strong><\/a> in Sweden.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Between June 6<sup>th<\/sup> \u2013 9<sup>th<\/sup>, Oliver Diaz visited the <strong>laboratory of Computer Simulations in Medicine<\/strong> of the TUV and gave an invited talk entitled &#8220;<strong>The power of image processing in multimodal breast imaging<\/strong>&#8221; at the special session <strong>&#8220;eHealth and Networking for Advanced Cancer Detection<\/strong>&#8220;, as part of the IEEE Black Sea Conference on Communications and Networking.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>On the other hand, VICOROB\u2019s members Eloy Garc\u00eda, Robert Mart\u00ed and Oliver D\u00edaz attended the IWDM between June 19<sup>th<\/sup> \u2013 22<sup>nd<\/sup>, where 200 participants from 27 countries presented their latest research. In this sense, VICOROB\u2019s members presented the research developed within the <a href=\"http:\/\/vicorob.udg.edu\/portfolio_page\/scartool\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">SCARTOOL<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/vicorob.udg.edu\/portfolio_page\/smarter\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">SMARTER<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/vicorob.udg.edu\/portfolio_page\/ia-biobreast\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">IA-BioBreast<\/a> research projects:<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/link.springer.com\/chapter\/10.1007\/978-3-319-41546-8_56\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Feasibility of depth sensors to study breast deformation during mammography procedures<\/strong><\/a>.
