The project will aim to develop a novel <strong>total body scanner<\/strong> and a <strong>Computer Aided Diagnostics (CAD) tool<\/strong> to integrate various data sources such as medical records, genomics data and in vivo imaging.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201c<\/em><em>The project will\u00a0provide a new AI-powered personalized diagnostic tool for early detection of melanoma exploiting all available sources of information for a given patient, such as<\/em> <em>demographics\u00a0information, clinical history, family history, genetic predisposition, phenotypic characteristics and skin imaging data. All this information will\u00a0allow accurate risk stratification and personalized care to transform clinical practice, leading to a\u00a0holistic melanoma risk score\u00a0for every patient.\u00a0Moreover, the\u00a0explainable AI\u00a0components developed in iToBoS will be able to deliver in-depth explanatory feedback to\u00a0the dermatologists using our technology, as part of the workflow of the delivered risk assessment software tools<\/em><em>\u201d<\/em> explained Prof. <a href=\"https:\/\/vicorob.udg.edu\/vicorob\/members\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Rafael Garcia<\/strong><\/a>, head of the Computer Vision Lab and full professor at the Polytechnic School of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.udg.edu\/ca\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">University of Girona<\/a> (UdG).<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>New total body scanner<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Besides of taking the lead of the project, ViCOROB will deal with the overall system architecture, use of liquid lenses and image processing.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The members of the consortium cover both research (5 research centers) and industrial areas (4 industrial companies and 6 SMEs), as well as the end users of the technology to be developed (3 hospitals and 1 patients\u2019 NPO).
