The DeeperSense team recently got together for the project\u2019s biannual partners meeting, this time held in Girona.<\/h4>\n

 <\/p>\n

This very productive meeting focused on advances in perception for underwater robotics<\/strong>, using state-of-the-art deep learning methods specially developed for sonars and conventional cameras.<\/strong> The meeting brought together members of the German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence (DFKI), the University of Haifa (Israel) and the German Federal Agency for Technical Relief (THW)<\/em>, as well as the UdG.<\/em> The event included several presentations and technical discussions as well as for planning the activities for the last year of the project. This includes the joint effort for setting up a compelling demonstration of technology applied in a real field test setting.<\/span><\/p>\n

During the meeting, the participants had the opportunity to visit Girona Underwater Vision and Robotics (CIRS)<\/strong><\/a>, a leading centre for the design and construction of autonomous underwater vehicles (AUVs). The visit showcased several innovative technologies being developed by ViCOROB\/UdG including a demonstration in underwater autonomous intervention.<\/span><\/p>\n
