ViCOROB and ALSTOM transporte keep on working together on a new project related to the 3D inspection of trains, using laser technologies.

The main goal of the project is to be able to get tridimensional information of the high-speed trains in order to be able to inspect in real time the trains. It is necessary that the System is flexible enough as to be able to tune it in the future for further uses.
The System should be modular and scalable to introduce, if necessary, new cameras and lasers according to the costumer requirements. The actual configuration includes 22 Photonfocus cameras and 24 lasers as well as 2 or 3 computers for the management of the infrastructure; the used software is based on AQSENSE SL technologies, transferred to the company from ViCOROB on 2004.

As a result of this new project, the team has created 3 new work places (1 for a Postdoc and 2 for Technical Engineers) and, soon, a new granted Student will start working on them.
