Computer Vision and Robotics Research Group
ViCOROB is a research group at the University of Girona created in 1993 dedicated to the research and development of technologies related to computer vision and robotics, with a strong track record in research, development, and technology transfer.
Research
ViCOROB combines top level research with technology transfer, focusing on basic and applied research projects. Research at ViCOROB intends to tackle them from the theoretical, observational and experimental viewpoints and is conducted by the following labs.
Research
VICOROB’s cutting-edge research in computer vision and robotics encompasses a wide array of projects, from pioneering autonomous underwater robots to the development of advanced perception systems. Their commitment to both theoretical and practical research has led to significant contributions to academic knowledge and technology transfer initiatives, impacting various industries and demonstrating their dedication to excellence and innovation.
Technology Transfer
VICOROB’s technology transfer efforts bridge the gap between research and practical applications. We have licensed innovative technologies, like autonomous underwater robots and advanced sensing systems, and have several spin off companies creating tangible solutions.
Training
VICOROB currently provides high-quality Erasmus Mundus Master’s degree programs in both the fields of medical imaging and underwater vision and robotics. Furthermore, the University of Girona offers a Doctoral Programme in Technology, serving as the initial step towards embarking on a research career with us.
Members of the TECNIO Network
The TECNIO certification was created by the Government of Catalonia, to identify differential applied technology suppliers and facilitators.
