Objectives:
– Social inclusion of children with Refugee/Migrant or Minority background (RMM) in their school by offering them quality education.
– Multicultural school teachers’ empowerment in the MARIAN project Curriculum and Lesson Plans Collection activities to support and upgrade their task with an innovative methodology.
– Boosting Mathematics engagement and achievement among RMM children, with special focus on girls, by combining Montessori Education with a Creative Learning STEAM approach.
Implementation:
– Innovative lesson plans for maths teaching and learning for primary and lower secondary education.
– In 1st year, we will design lesson plans and assessment tools with specific links to curricula
– In 2nd year, a small group of teachers will be trained in English, to implement and improve the lesson plans.
– In the 3rd year, these trainers will train teachers who will implement MARIAN in multicultural schools in their countries. – A network of teachers will be created to support each other.
Results:
– A transformative Montessori-inspired Creative Computing and Math Curriculum to change the ways of teaching and learning Mathematics from Primary to Lower Secondary.
– A set of culturally relevant lesson plans, offering engaging activities for learning in different ways, designed for educators. – A MARIAN Training Program successfully conducted for 500 teachers in Spain, Greece, Italy, Bulgaria, and Romania.
– The MARIAN Curriculum effectively implemented, positively impacting 7,500 children.
