iToBoS Project Presented at MPNE Congress

May 4, 2023

This past weekend, the annual Congress of the Melanoma Patient Network Europe (MPNE 2023, April 28-30) was held at the Bloom Hotel in Brussels, Belgium. VICOROB was represented with the participation of Professor Rafael Garcia, who gave a lecture to explain and disseminate the iToBoS project. This project aims to develop new tools for the early detection of cutaneous melanoma, and attendees were able to learn firsthand about the significant advances the project is making, both in the development of new deep learning models for melanoma prediction, and in new modalities of non-contact dermatoscopy image acquisition using liquid lenses and polarized light.

The Melanoma Patient Network Europe (MPNE) is an association that includes melanoma patients, caregivers, and patient advocates. MPNE has built a network that allows it to overcome linguistic barriers and share reliable knowledge about melanoma throughout Europe, while participating in various European projects. MPNE is one of the partners of the iToBoS project, providing patient involvement, organizing focus groups, and helping ensure that the voice of patients is present in the research we carry out.
