HARMONY (A Holistic AI-Driven Approach to Melanoma Risk Assessment Integrating Clinical, Phenotypic, Genotypic, and Imaging Data) is a European collaborative research project aimed at developing an AI-based tool for personalised melanoma risk assessment and early detection. The project will integrate clinical history, phenotypic characteristics, genetic information, and advanced skin imaging, including 3D total-body photography and digital dermoscopy, to provide a more comprehensive assessment of individual melanoma risk. By combining multimodal data using deep-learning techniques, including graph-based architectures, HARMONY aims to improve patient risk stratification, support personalised skin surveillance, and assist clinicians in evaluating suspicious lesions while reducing unnecessary biopsies. The study plans to recruit approximately 2,500 patients across five European clinical centres.
